Class Procedures and Policies
Website - I use this class website for communications through out the school year. If you miss a Friday note, I usually get it up on the website by the end of the weekend. If you are not able to access the site on a regular basis and would like a printed copy of the class news, please let me know.
Homework - Students are expected to read 30 minutes per night, and note minutes read on a reading log until they develop their reading stamina. They should read chapter books at their reading level. Please do not ask your child to read material beyond his/her level. Research shows that reading text that is readily comprehensible is the best way to increase reading skills. Other than reading, there will generally not be homework assigned on weekends.
Snack - Each day the kids will have a chance to eat a snack mid-morning. Please send healthy snacks such as fruit or crackers, and please no candy, cookies, chips, or peanuts.
